Babbel is looking for a Director of B2B to lead the development of this fast-growing division in Berlin.

About the role:

Developing a robust B2B business is one of Babbel’s top priorities. Two years into the project, the B2B team has created a product that serves the needs of the corporate market. We have assembled a team of innovative marketers and salespeople that have grown revenue 5x in the first year and are on track for massive growth again this year. We are at an inflection point in the evolution of the business and seek a leader who can chart the right course and guide the team in driving ongoing revenue growth and product innovation.

The B2B team is a relatively independent unit (20 FTE) within Babbel (>700 FTE), benefiting from the go-go dynamics of a startup while having access to the deep resources of a thriving, larger company. We have already achieved great progress, with more than 500 business customers and strong customer satisfaction. Now our challenge is to further prove and scale the business.

In this role you will:

  • Be responsible for meeting revenue and bottom line targets for the B2B unit; own the P&L
  • Define Babbel’s B2B growth strategy together with the CEO
  • Know B2B best practices and train the team on them
  • Hire, lead and develop a great team and bring it to the next level
  • Actively listen to customer feedback and drive product, process, and service innovation in a way that furthers product-market-fit
  • Scale acquisition channels to drive profitable growth
  • Be the champion of B2B within the company

You have:

  • A solid background in B2B SAAS sales, with experience in lead generation or product management being a bonus
  • Several years of experience directly leading a team, including hiring, developing and motivating employees
  • Full fluency in spoken and written English. Working proficiency in German is a plus. A passion for language-learning is very helpful.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills and strategic thinking
  • An entrepreneurial attitude, hands-on mentality, high motivation and willingness to learn
  • No problem with giving/receiving constructive feedback and providing your direct reports with the responsibility/ownership they need to succeed
  • Excellent communication skills that ensure a smooth interaction with stakeholders outside the team, e.g. execs, colleagues, and customers
