We are looking for a Social Media Team Lead for our office in Berlin!


Your mission as a Social Media Team Lead will be to grow Babbel’s presence and impact in the world of Social Media, both through our owned channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) and through Influencer Marketing activities – leading a team of expert channel managers.


You will:


  • Lead an international team of Social Media Managers and Influencer Marketing Managers, including 4 direct reports
  • Be responsible for further developing and implementing Babbel's own Social Media (non-paid) and Influencer Marketing strategies for different markets with local needs and challenges
  • Ensure channel-specific goals are met together with the Brand, Country Managers and Paid Social Teams to localise the content to 7 different languages
  • Oversee and support the team’s main focus areas (reporting, analysing, budgeting, forecasting, negotiating, campaign management, community management, content creation), with a data-driven approach
  • Act as the main spokesperson for the team, reporting on performance and communicating effectively on tests/campaigns/updates related to the channel
  • Create an environment of experimentation, innovation and positive collaboration, to be constantly up to speed with the ever-changing social media landscape
  • Collaborate with company-wide stakeholders such as PR, Customer Service, Finance, Legal, Didactics, etc.

You have:


  • 5+ years of experience in managing social media channels for a brand (previous experience with a subscription business model is a plus), both from an operational and a strategic perspective
  • Strong familiarity with the world of Influencer Marketing – possibly with a focus on YouTube and Instagram content creators
  • 2+ years of experience in leading a team, including hiring, developing and motivating employees
  • Solid analytical skills (with a focus on key social media metrics and on the link between those metrics and ROI)
  • An endless curiosity about the world of social media, its potential and the main industry trends
  • A strategic mentality, high motivation and the constant willingness to learn
  • Full fluency in spoken and written English. Language learning passion is a (very desirable!) plus.
