Casper is seeking a Copy Director to lead the copywriting practice of our growing New-York-based in-house creative team. This person will report to the VP, Creative Director and partner closely with the Design Director. He/she will also manage a small but growing team of writers.


The primary responsibility for this role is to help shape the voice and narrative of the Casper brand - - spanning everything from anthemic advertising, seasonal campaigns and promotions, new product launches, retail and wholesale activations, and internal/employee programming. The candidate will rely on both internal resources as well as select, agency partners to accomplish this.


The ideal candidate will be highly conceptual with the experience to see the big picture, but also believe that great brand-building comes down to execution and details. So, rolling up one’s sleeves and staying closely involved with the work is critical, while also managing and empowering the team for their future growth and success.


Casper (casper.com) is a global sleep company that launched in 2014 with an obsessively engineered, outrageously comfortable mattress sold directly to consumers. When you’re not catching zzz’s, this is what you’ll do

  • Grow, lead and inspire a copy team and guide their output. Promote continual creative improvement and actively contribute to a culture of creative excellence. Posses a hands-on approach to the work.



  • Work with VP/Creative Director and Design Director in setting the long term vision for the brand’s look/voice across all channels, and contribute to a full brand toolkit for all internal/external stakeholders to leverage.



  • Collaborate with marketing leads and other business stakeholders on design projects and marketing campaigns. Guide the project briefing and scoping to ensure a healthy balance of results and inspired creative work.



  • Lead and direct key projects and select initiatives



  • Help build a freelance network of creative partners, as needed


Our dream candidate has...

  • 10+ years experience at a creative agency or progressive consumer brand



  • 3+ years experience in a Senior Manager or Director level role



  • A strong, dynamic portfolio that showcases a large breadth of work from television to print to site to social to in-store.



  • A collaborative nature, aptitude for bringing people together, a strong work ethic, the ability to manage multiple projects at once, and well-honed communication/presentation skills.



  • Familiarity and passion for entrepreneurial and fast-paced work/creative environments



  • An approachable style, and hopefully, a great sense of humor!
