Casper is looking to add several Data Scientists to our Data and Analytics team. In general the Data Scientists will touch all aspects of the organization including marketing, retail,  operations, product, customer experience, wholesale and engineering to provide actionable data-driven insights and define the company’s analytics strategy. Information drives Casper’s decision-making process, and we need curious analysts to support that.

When you’re not catching zzz’s, this is what you’ll do

You have the analytical firepower to take advantage of our rich data, discover business challenges, deliver insights and solutions,  and drives our data-driven approach to decisioning. Each Data Scientist will have focused areas within Connected Devices and Marketing Analytics, with responsibilities including:


  • Work with Data and Analytics team members and cross-functional stakeholders to build out our multi-touch attribution capability, with a strong focus on building a best in class multi-touch attribution model
  • Build media mix model to drive increased understanding of marketing spend impact and a full spectrum of factors on revenue
  • Develop and continue enhancing our media mix optimization process, drive marketing strategy and budget allocation through complex statistical modelling and analysis
  • Optimize and scale Casper’s digital and offline channels (Social, Search, Video, OOH etc), and create models to uncover opportunities to improve customer acquisition efficiency
  • Carry out customer path analysis and predictive modeling to understand customer journey and customer behaviors
  • Measure the performance of marketing campaigns, develop KPI reports that tell the story behind the data to non-technical team members and drive key marketing, digital product and business decisions
  • Build comprehensive testing frameworks and roadmap to measure omni-channel marketing programs and champion a testing culture that rapidly tests, measures, and iterates, executing in conjunction with the Acquisition team to continually refine marketing mix model and strategy
  • Work with Product Development and Engineering to build and innovate our products
  • Collect data and build algorithms to improve customer’s sleep quality
  • Develop applications to implement machine learning solutions to power our smart products
Our dream candidate is...
  • 3+ years of experience in data and analytics, with an emphasis on marketing analytics and /or product development, preferably at an omni-channel e-commerce brand, and working with teams to successfully implement spend recommendations to drive business growth
  • Proficient knowledge in statistical modeling and machine learning methodologies
  • Strong technical skills including writing complex SQL queries, Python (preferred) or R, with a solid understanding of open source data mining / data visualization software packages (e.g., pandas, scikit-learn, matplotlib) a plus
  • Experience of using data visualization platforms such as Looker, Tableau, and web analytics platforms like Heap, Google Analytics is preferred
  • Experience of implementing modeling algorithms to business applications
  • Strong communication skills and able to influence others to achieve buy-in for recommendations
  • Highly motivated self-learner. Flexible, adaptable, able to work in a fast-paced agile environment
