Manager Communications and Public Relations

We are seeking a motivated Communications Manager to develop and execute Casper’s communications strategy in Europe, partnering closely with our Senior Director of Communications based in New York and VP of Marketing based in Berlin. The ideal candidate is both a strategist and a creative self-starter with 5+ years experience in PR/Communications.

Casper (casper.com) is a global sleep company that launched in 2014 with an obsessively engineered, outrageously comfortable mattress sold directly to consumers. Its critically acclaimed sleep surface was developed in-house, has a sleek design, and is delivered in a small, "how did they do that?"-sized box. The company is one of the fastest-growing consumer brands of all time, and its product line has expanded to include sheets, pillows, a matching foundation, and a dog mattress. • Develop and drive communications strategies that drive awareness and credibility for Casper in the region—with a focus on earned media, awards, conferences, brand activations, events, brand partnerships, and influencers
• Manage external UK-based PR agency
• Ability to provide critical eye to agency pitches and writing
• Oversee continued development of comprehensive PR library and database of resources (press page, fact sheets, etc.)
• Excellent writing skills with the ability to write press releases, Q&As, media statements and briefing documents.
• Manage all award submissions on behalf of Casper
• Drive UK influencer strategy in line with the broader brand goals
• Responsible for communications analysis and regular reporting
• Lead press and consumer events
• Build relationships with a broad range of media, alongside the PR agency.
• Initiate, develop and maintain strong brand partnerships
• Ability to manage, prepare and guide any senior management involved in external media communication or public/industry events.
• Lead Casper event planning and management in the region (pop-ups, partner events, etc.)
• Ensure best practices with global comms stakeholders

• 5+ years of experience working in PR/Communications
• Deep understanding of the media landscape; understanding of larger marketing mix and how PR and communications fit in
• Experience managing external agencies a plus
• Excellent writing skills, ability to write and edit communications materials for a wide range of audiences
• Proactive approach to work, you like to solve problems and don't wait for someone to give you the answer
• Extremely organized and detail oriented! You can manage multiple projects at once and are structured about your work approach
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Flexible and hands-on work mentality
• An eye for design and international work experience is a plus
• Available to travel, mainly to Berlin / New York
• German language skills are a plus
