Your Role:As our Freelancer Business Intelligence (m/f) you will temporarily be supporting our CIO Sebastian in providing BI as Data Exploration Service platform to enable business teams to analyse data for business decisions by defining data warehousing structures, creating reporting data models, building business reports and organising our small BI team. Your Tasks:
you will be in lead of building reports, dashboards and tools to analyse and report data that is associated with our customers’ interactions and insurance operations
together with the BI team (one Junior Analyst, one Intern), you will develop, maintain and quality assure the setup of the Data Warehouse, BI data models and its reporting solutions to satisfy the growing requirements in business reports and analytics
you will be the point of contact for our tech squads’ Engineers, from Data and Backend to Frontend and Site Reliability, to establish lean data processing pipelines in our AWS environment in cross-functional sync with our Product Managers
working closely with the feature squads and business teams, you will be in charge for defining tasks in the BI team as well as tasks to be distributed to tech squads to implement or improve our data pipeline implementations
you will enable business stakeholders to get insights on frontend user behaviour, marketing activities, insurance business and accounting information provided by our self-BI reporting solutions in Looker
you will be in charge to lead the BI team’s weekly and daily agile ceremonies
Your Profile:
completed studies in (business) informatics, (business) mathematics, statistics, (business) engineering or comparable, preferred a Master degree
5+ years in Business Intelligence or Data Warehousing in-house or consulting
expert knowledge of BI concepts like Data Warehouse, ETL, Data Lake, etc.
expert skills in BI tools for reporting & dashboarding structures to create self-service BI solution to business users , skills in Looker as BI tool is a big advantage
proficiency in handling SQL stored data, knowledge in organising and working with any other form of structured or semi-structured data is an advantage
experience in conception and administration of BI as well as DWH solutions using AWS technologies, in particular Redshift, S3, Lambda, EMR, Athena
knowledge in Frontend user tracking solutions, especially using Snowplow, is a plus
experience from in working in a tech environment, with tools for code versioning like git or with data analytical or any other programming language are a plus
solid knowledge in working with agile project organisation, eg Scrum, Kanban, any experience from work in cross-functional teams is a plus
highly analytical and detail oriented mindset, intensive abstraction skills and problem solving focus, self-organised
confident team internal and cross-functional communication
fluent English verbally and written, German is a plus
