Our Business Intelligence team is looking for a Junior Data Scientist able to work across teams of engineers and stakeholders to make sense of data throughout the organization. If you consider yourself to be that unique mix of data hacker, business analyst, communicator and mentor that likes to act as a catalyzer between teams and data, then we’d like to hear from you.

This position is full time and based in our Milan office.

Main responsibilities:

Frame the problem: translate data questions and ambiguous information into actionable analysis
Collect and reorganize autonomously the raw data, from different sources (csv, rdbms..) mainly in ShopFully systems.
Explore and model data mainly through AB testings, unsupervised and supervised learning in regression and classification problems
Engage with Product and BI tech teams to solve problems and identify trends and opportunities
Inform, influence, support, and execute our product decisions and product launches
The Data Scientist role in DoveConviene will work across different stakeholders of the company and particularly with Product department on:
Evaluating, defining and monitoring product team metrics and KPIs
Designing and evaluating experiments
Designing and evaluating funnels around product experiments and main features with the ability to clusterize and compare the results as data-driven support
Building key data sets to empower operational and exploratory analysis
Building and analyzing dashboards and reports of complex data sets
Understanding ecosystems, user behaviors, and long-term trends

Requirements

BA/BS in Computer Science, Math, Physics, Engineering, Statistics or other technical field
Proficient in SQL and other data-programming languages
Development experience in any scripting language (PHP, Python, Perl, Unix shell etc.)
Basic understanding of statistics and data interpretation (e.g., hypothesis testing, ANOVA, regressions)
Knowledge of R and Python applied to Data Science is highly appreciated

Difference makers:

Experience with web and mobile analytics tools
Experience with distributed computing and map-reduce architectures (Hive/Hadoop) is a plus
Basic knowledge of Splunk
Some experience with AWS
