Junior Web Engineer

Description

He/she will work in the web development team implementing new features and optimising all of DoveConviene - ShopFully’s web properties, used every day by millions of people around the world to discover offers.

Main responsibilities:

• Develop new features and evolve ShopFully International Group websites
• Work on desktop and mobile optimisations
• Maintain unit tests
• Perform code reviews
• Maintain the newsletter subsystem and web analytics integrations

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• Familiarity with the whole web stack, including protocols and performance optimization techniques
• Experience developing using a PHP framework (CakePHP, Symfony, Laravel, etc.)
• Experience using caching systems (Redis) to improve application performance
• Familiar with modern web development technologies and techniques, including HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Responsive Design, web services, web workers, etc.
• Experience developing AJAX interfaces with modern libraries, frameworks and tools (e.g. ReactJS, JQuery, AngularJS, Backbone, Underscore, RequireJS, Bower, Grunt, etc.)
• Experience developing using both relational and non-relational database engines (MySQL, MongoDB)
• Basic knowledge of testing tools, both for backend (PHPUnit) and for frontend (Jasmine, QUnit)
• Self disciplined and responsible
• Excellent verbal and written skills
