As a Data Engineer you will be…

  • Working within the team to develop a truly scalable data warehouse within the AWS environment 
  • Using Clojure and Python but also working with the streaming platform Apache Kafka for building out data pipelines
  • Using dimensional fact models (Kimball modelling) to give a bespoke business user experience. 
  • Develop comprehensive ETL workflows
  • Conducting rigorous testing using Jenkins and Circle CI
  • Have ownership on your own projects and adhering to use of an agile way of working. 
  • Working on projects that support the business in product improvement, growth engineering in order to facilitate more efficient marketing analysis and improvement of our risk models using machine learning. 
  • You will work with everyone from both commercial and technical teams to understand and agree on the best way forward.
  • Communicate technical initiatives to non-technical business users in a clear and concise way.
  • Prioritising engineering decisions to juggle both urgent projects, whilst also planning longer term projects.
  • Take pride and ownership in the quality of the work you produce, and offer improvements where possible.

  • Significant experience in a Software Engineering or Data Engineering role.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with SQL
  • Strong programming skills with Python, Clojure or similar functional languages
  • Use of AWS stack including EMR, Lambda & EC2.
  • Proficiency using large data sets and relational and dimensional modelling.
  • Expertise in a Unix environment.
  • Experience with messaging and streaming platforms like Kafka, RabbitMQ or JMS
  • A self-starter attitude with an enthusiasm to work in a start-up environment

    About the Role

    Funding Circle is seeking a driven and innovative Manager of Digital Marketing who can drive the growth of digital channels in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for leading digital marketing from strategy to execution while maximizing cost-effective growth. You will help scale our acquisition and retention efforts by building a portfolio of digital channels.

    Reporting to the Head of US Direct Marketing, you will play a pivotal role in helping to shape Funding Circle’s marketing strategy, grow our bottom line and build a holistic customer journey experience.     As the Digital Marketing Manager you will be responsible for…         

  • Owning digital strategy and managing all digital channels to drive acquisition, conversion and awareness
  • Building and delivering multi-channel digital campaigns (paid social, display, mobile, ppc) to reach target audience, and drive business results
  • Scaling retargeting efforts to engage site visitors and returning customers
  • Maximizing campaign ROI via rigorous tests and learn to optimize on copy, creative, and audience targeting
  • Managing channel spend and budget process to meet growth and ROI targets, including monthly forecasts and reporting
  • Playing a key role in reviewing and enhancing tools and technology to enable improved tracking, attribution, audience segmentation, and reporting

  • 5+ years experience in performance/digital marketing with proven track record of success building and scaling paid media campaigns.

  • Proven knowledge of expertise in integrating platforms and tools to enhance tracking, reporting, and attribution. (Google Analytics, GTM. Familiarity with Account Based Marketing Tools is a plus)

    Funding Circle’s Global Model Risk Management team is looking to add an enthusiastic, smart, & results-driven lead data scientist to validate the integrity and comprehensiveness of internal risk models independently.

    As our Data Scientist you will…

  • Work within the group model validation team, interfacing with model developers and supporting the Head of Model Risk Management.
  • Partner with model development team and wider risk team to provide analytical input for the model development and credit strategy building
  • Perform model validation and relevant quantitative analyses to test the performance of credit risk model, stress testing model and other risk models
  • Review models with respect to accounting requirements, investor requirements and internal standards
  • Communicate validation findings with stakeholders effectively

    Job purpose :

    Funding Circle US is seeking a passionate and highly motivated graduate level intern to join our 10-week summer internship class in our Risk & Analytics team. Our Risk & Analytics team are quantitative analysts who extract meaningful business insights from data and build/ leverage predictive models to create decision strategies that will optimize business performance.

    The R&A function sits at the heart of value creation utilizing leading-edge analytics,  turning data into long term competitive advantage and ensuring that US business grows profitably with the right risk controls.

    Birds-eye view of the role:

    The Intern would work on projects in R&A area under the close oversight of a mentor.

    The role would involve :

  • Understanding the business problem or opportunity at hand and quantify the key metrics that describe this problem/opportunity
  • Define & develop an analytical or modelling framework that would be applied to this situation
  • Perform deep dive analysis and propose a comprehensive strategy to address the above
  • Work closely with partner teams to drive the implementation of operational strategies
  • Present findings and recommendations from the project to senior management at the end of the internship
  • Projects would be in areas like credit strategy, risk & marketing models, operational strategy for underwriting and pricing optimization. But, will require coordination cross-functionally with other departments to research and implement risk & analytical solutions.
