Capital Market Operations Manager

Funding Circle is seeking a motivated and analytical manager to lead the Capital Market Operations team. This position reports to the US Head of Investor Services and will be responsible for the overall operation of the team including on boarding investors, day-to-day operations activities, development and enhancement of the investor domain under the marketplace and support the vision and assist in the execution of strategy.

As the Manager of our Capital Markets Operations team you will...

• Be responsible for managing the on boarding of all institutional investors to the Funding Circle marketplace in the US. This will involve working closely with many business areas, primarily Capital Markets but also the wider Investor Services team, Legal, Product & Technology, Risk Analytics, Loan Closing and Payment Operations, ensuring that project deliverables are met with the appropriate due diligence and system integrations, reporting and monitoring in place for go live.
• Be responsible for the day to day operational management of institutional investor accounts, including regular reporting, monitoring the transactions against contractual concentration limits and eligibility criteria as well as various ongoing servicing responsibilities. Develop quality control process to ensure accuracy of investor data before delivering to investors (email, secure FTP or API)
• Work closely with the Head of Investor Services, Capital Markets, Legal & Compliance and Product & Technology teams to maintain procedures on current processes, design and implement new processes where necessary, considering both commercial and regulatory objectives, with a focus on mitigating risks and embedding a control culture in everything we do. Ensure compliance to all corporate operation standard and policy.
• Develop and lead the Capital Market Operations Team to test and validate all changes/enhancements before deployment in the live system.
• Work closely with external auditors and assurance partners to verify our controls, procedures and cash flows with respect to institutional investors
• Line manage and build out a high performing Capital Markets Operations team. The business is growing rapidly and as such, you will be working closely with the Head of Investor Services to support the vision and assist in the execution of strategies. Be able to measure the capacity requirements as we build out the team to meet the growing demands of the business.
• Work with product and tech teams to identify risks on any system or process changes
• Work closely with the Financial Operations Manager to enhance synergies and operation efficiencies
• Gain an in-depth knowledge of internal payments and loan processing systems

You’ve been there and done this…

• Ideally have 5+ years of experience at a top tier investment bank or asset manager within Middle Office. Preference for experience in the FICC business areas in a manager or supervisory role
• Motivated, collaborative attitude with a desire to help shape a fast-growing area of the business and build a proactive, efficient and high performing team.  
• Confident, presentable and able to interact directly and autonomously with a wide variety of internal business stakeholders together with external investors and their operations teams
• Proven quantitative skill set combined with unrelenting attention to detail and a risk and controls framework focus
• Working knowledge of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Objective & Key Results (OKRs).
• Comfortable working with large data sets (preferable working with basic queries), intermediate excel skills is a must and SQL and/or Tableau experience a plus
• Passion for delivering a best in class investor experience
• Working knowledge of legal contractual language and terms
