Summary: We are seeking an experienced Collections Specialist to develop & build out our Servicing & Collections team. You will be responsible for contacting customers with delinquent accounts, initiating appropriate action, maintaining records, and providing a high level of customer service to help our customers get back on track. Description
We are seeking an experienced Collection Specialist to join our Servicing & Collections team in Downtown Denver, CO. You will be responsible for contacting customers with delinquent accounts, initiating appropriate action, maintaining records, and providing a high level of customer service to help our customers get back on track. He/She will be part of an innovative SCR team developing best practices & processes.
As a Collections Specialist you will:
- Review status of delinquent accounts and initiate action, which would include notifying customers of delinquent status based on due date, prepare correspondence for special handling, and skip tracing
- Communicate and coordinate customer account information to a variety of departments and participate in weekly/monthly meetings to report status on assigned delinquent accounts
- Follow up on undeliverable mail, and research disputed delinquent account balances, then correct any errors, including misapplied payments, reversed late charges, direct deposit errors, and overpayment errors
- Negotiate and process ACH payments, while setting up payment plans to bring accounts current
Qualifications
- Excellent Customer Service/Satisfaction skills
- 1-3 years of experience in lending/customer service/sales/collections, preferably in a call center environment
- Ability to quickly identify issues, and has worked in an established framework, and escalate quickly to supervisor
- Deadline oriented self-starter with the ability to work independently and interact directly with a wide variety of stakeholders
- Thrives in a strong culture of open communication, teamwork, curiosity to make things better, getting things done, and brings their passion to work
