Funding Circle is looking for a Country Manager for our German commercial business. The ideal candidate will drive the commercial performance of the DE business. This will include building and leading the commercial teams, establishing the FC brand with key stakeholders, being accountable for the profitability of the commercial organisation and promoting the FC culture within the team and externally.  The position requires that the individual is capable of excelling in a start-up environment, e.g. getting their hands dirty to execute on the plan, as well as leading and growing a high performing team, being a culture carrier, and working with diverse teams cross functionally.

About the job

  • Grow the business sustainably in line with targets by owning commercial strategy and performance, relationships with key external stakeholders and the culture of the office.
  • Oversee daily commercial operations including borrower sales, (retail) investor support, communications and collections.
  • Work across the organisation to understand and improve all aspects of the borrower and investor experience.
  • Ensure borrower proposition continues to beat the market proposition by actively monitoring the competitive landscape.
  • Energise and inspire the teams, fostering a workplace culture that is consistent with our mission and values while also driving accountability.
  • Hire and develop talent as the company grows and the organisation’s structure continues to evolve.
  • Represent Funding Circle and manage relationships with press, regulators, and industry groups ensuring voice of FC is represented in policy setting and key initiatives as well as our positive image is maintained in the media.
  • Actively manage, together with the Capital Markets team, the liquidity of the German platform.
  • Lead and manage the budgeting & forecasting of the commercial organisation. 

Who we’re looking for

  • 7+ years experience in a fast moving/high growth environment.
  • Experience managing/leading sales teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – high EQ to manage change and work in a matrix organisation.
  • High degree of entrepreneurial spirit and initiative
  • High degree of confidence and maturity – able to influence people.
  • Must be fluent in both German and English communications.
