Head of Marketing – The Netherlands

As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a Head of Marketing to run Dutch marketing and help shape the next era of growth, brand and customer relationships for Funding Circle.

Key responsibilities: 

Brand

• Championing the global brand both internally and externally
• Being the voice of the Funding Circle brand identity and ensuring all local executions resonate within the Dutch market and that all creative and copy is exceptional
• Helping the marketing team ‘build the brand’ by delivering a joined up message
• Understanding all of the opportunities we have to interact with customers and planning how best to deliver the overall FC message to the customer
• Ensuring that all marketing communications are of the highest quality and that the brand guidelines are followed
• The brand needs to live throughout the business. It is important that this role understands what this means for product, sales, ops and works with the different areas to deliver the brand vision

Campaign planning

• Owning the campaign plan and vision.
• Developing and driving local initiatives
• Development of campaign ideas that help us land the right messages with customers
• Development of creative and content assets
• Co-ordination of marketing and other teams to ensure these messages are disseminated correctly

Budget planning and customer acquisition

• Working closely with the performance team to ensure the correct plans are in place for hitting agreed targets
• You will have a good understanding of direct marketing (DM and email) strategies digital acquisition channels and how to use them effectively

Customer management

• Understanding our customers and their interactions and championing better ways to communicate with them and improve key measures
• Working with all teams to ensure how we deal with customers is consistent and optimized
• Ensuring the team has sufficient support within the business to deliver initiatives
• Delivering on our customer engagement plans

Conversion / Optimisation

• Working with the team to find ways of improving the customer journey this includes both online and offsite metrics

Local team management

• As part of the Dutch team, working closely with the local MD you will help shape our internal culture
• Represent the company at a senior level externally (for example at events)
• Work closely across the business to deliver cross functional working and results
• Championing the Funding Circle culture and playing a part in making this a great company to work for 

Global engagement

• Performance marketing is run as a European function and is key to our success in each market. You will need to be able to work effectively in this matrix environment.  
• Funding Circle is a global company and we want to create a close working relationship amongst our international colleagues. Your responsibility is to ensure learnings are shared and collaboration is strong.

Requires skills & experience:

• Fluency in Dutch 
• 5-8 years working in marketing roles. Ideally with good experience of high growth and/or Internet businesses
• You will need to be comfortable and ideally experienced in working within a matrix organization structure and have an appreciation of what it takes to be successful in this environment
• A tenacity for growth and a real attention to detail around planning 
• Good experience of working with complex data sets such as conversion metrics and customer behavior
• A curious and creative mind, willing to ask challenging questions of our customers and prepared to create brave solutions
• A collaborative and inspiring style. Experience of managing and inspiring teams to do great work and an approach that makes working across departments warm and productive
