Head of Product

Title: Head of Product 

You will be leading a global team of product managers to deliver market leading technology innovation in making our operational platform achieve ever more ambitious commercial SLAs (speed, cost, control and scalability) and user experience in all of our geographies and prepare the way for further international expansion.

As Head of Product, you will:

• Own the vision for our operational systems and lead the delivery of new capabilities within the loan processing and investor management operational pipelines
• Obsess about operational performance and challenging the status-quo - nothing is off the table
• Line manage, mentor and develop an international group of product managers (note: most of our development resource for this area is based in the UK)
• Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and senior managers to prioritise, measure and monitor impact to key commercial performance targets
• Understand how longer term tracks can be broken into discrete components across different streams and build and learn quickly
• Constantly seek to innovate and make well informed build/buy decisions
• Work with procurement and legal to manage relationships with key suppliers - understanding where we can get good value and innovation
• Work with our team of technical project managers to keep track of deadlines and agendas
• Travel to our other geographies in order to align, prioritise and communicate your vision and roadmap in collaboration with global stakeholders.

You’ve been there and done this:

• You have significant experience as a product manager (5+ years) and at least 2 years experience of managing product managers (preferably in a high growth e-commerce, finance or marketplace businesses that have significant operational processes)
• You have proven experience with launching sophisticated products that require expectation management and internal coordination with other teams
• You have proven experience with people development, delegation and team leadership
• You have a mindset geared toward data analytics and making decisions based on facts
• You have strong, proven problem-solving skills and an ability to dig deep to fully understand the desired solution /outcome - navigating from “what is being asked” to “what is the need”
• You have a solid technical background - understanding of web technologies and software development
• You are commercially driven and understand the business outcomes and implications that your roadmap is trying to achieve. You are not afraid to make difficult decisions on the basis of achieving these outcomes.
• You have the ability to own product development throughout the entire product lifecycle and to mentor others on how to do the same.

It would be great if you’ve also had:

• Business, Finance, Engineering or Computer Science degree, or relevant experience in financial products or banking
• Genuine interest in finance and especially debt markets
• Experience working on a global project with teams across geographies and time zones
• Working knowledge of other languages (especially German or Dutch, although we are an English speaking company)
