Operations Associate Payments

Description

Operations is critical to our business here at Funding Circle.  As a Payments Operations Generalist, you will be joining our expanding Operations Team.  In this role, you will provide daily operational support to the flow of funds between borrowers and investors, perform daily reconciliations between systems and cash, escalate and follow up on exceptions, and assist in streamlining the daily operations to enhance controls and mitigate risk.  You will work with the rest of the Payments Team on ad hoc financial projects and analyses as they arise. This role reports to the Payments Operations Manager.

Birds-eye view of the role:

• Provide daily operational support for contributions and distributions of funds to and from borrowers and investors via ACH, wires and checks
• Perform operational tasks to ensure daily reconciliations between systems and cash transactions are timely and accurately processed
• Identify, escalate, and monitor exceptions as they arise
• Identify and communicate opportunities to  streamline treasury processes and procedures and enforce cash controls to your manager
• Assist with other ad hoc financial projects as they arise

Our ideal teammate has:

• 1-2 years of relevant experience in business operations in the fields of finance, payments, accounting
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related Business discipline
• Willingness and ability to learn quickly
• Process oriented  and inquisitive mindset with keen attention to detail
• A team player who can communicate, escalate, and properly monitor various exceptions  simultaneously
• A strong work ethic and organizational skills for changing priorities in a fast-paced task-oriented environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Must be self-directed and able to work independently

• NACHA, payment processing, or other technical payments knowledge
