Collections Specialist
Description
Summary: We are seeking an experienced Collections Specialist to join our Recoveries team in Downtown Denver. You will be responsible for contacting customers with defaulted accounts, initiating appropriate action, maintaining records, and providing a high level of customer service to help our customers get back on track. You will be part of an innovative Services Collections and Recoveries team developing best practices & processes.
As a Collections Specialist you will:
Review status of defaulted accounts and initiate action, which would include notifying customers of defaulted status, prepare correspondence for special handling, and skip tracing
Communicate and coordinate customer account information to a variety of departments and participate in weekly/monthly meetings to report status on assigned delinquent accounts
Follow up on undeliverable mail, and research disputed delinquent account balances, then correct any errors, including misapplied payments, reversed late charges, direct deposit errors, and overpayment errors
Negotiate and process ACH payments, while setting up payment plans to pay down account balances
Who are you?
Excellent Customer Service/Satisfaction skills
1-3 years of experience in lending/customer service/sales/collections, preferably in a call center environment
Ability to quickly identify issues, and has worked in an established framework, and raise quickly to supervisor
Deadline oriented self-starter with the ability to work independently and directly contact a wide variety of stakeholders
Thrives in a strong culture of open communication, teamwork, curiosity to make things better, getting things done, and brings their passion to work
