The Partnerships team is seeking a highly motivated Strategic Partnerships Manager to source, negotiate, and onboard, new business development opportunities as well as support with other revenue generating initiatives for the channel. Our Strategic Partners are large organizations whose goals and focus align to Funding Circle's mission to help small businesses grow with the capital they need to prosper. Strategic Partners are one of our three primary channels for customer acquisition, and a major growth initiative in the US. Examples of Strategic Partners include Intuit, Credit Karma, Stripe, Nav, Alibaba and several traditional Financial Institutions. Managing and developing Strategic Partnerships requires the ability to clearly articulate Funding Circle's value proposition.  This is an individual contributor role that requires a team-first mindset, a diplomatic approach to negotiation, and strong project management skills.

You’ve been there and done this…

  • Source and onboard new strategic partners through both inbound requests and outbound sourcing.  
  • Negotiate new prospective partnership arrangements. Evaluate contract terms and include relevant stakeholders in structuring corporate relationships.
  • Develop and execute successful joint projects / pilots with Strategic Partners to create awareness of Funding Circle and drive customer acquisition. Examples include: product integrations, direct mail and email campaigns, co-hosted webinars, and conferences
  • Project manage the development of new product features, including partner-specific product changes with a focus on increasing loan originations and new revenue verticals. Work cross-functionally with product and tech teams to do so.
  • Conduct reporting and analysis on Strategic Partner channel to identify weaknesses and opportunities.

It would be great if you’ve also…

  • 4-8 years of work experience; mature disposition and comfort engaging w/ C-level executives
  • Analytical orientation -- success of the role is largely dependent on metrics-driven approach.
  • A team-first attitude and the ability to work well cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders internally and externally
  • Individually motivated and able to create self-directed work plans.
  • Public speaking ability, especially with regard to pitches and relationship management
  • Skills must haves: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Sheets

Brownie points for:

  • Professional experience in a consultancy, financial services, and/or a demonstrated track record of new Business Development, particularly in fintech
  • Proficient in SQL, Salesforce, and Tableau.
  • Experience in and good knowledge of fast-growing financial technology sector.
  • Excitement for working in a fast-growing but still small and self-starting tech company.
  • Familiarity with sales, contractual structuring and negotiation of terms.
