What you’ll do:


  • You will direct a team of Product and Content Designers in building a strong user-centered point of view of your product area and advocate for user needs in a collaborative way.
  • You will lead a team of Product and Content Designers in developing and iterating on world-class UX design solutions across web, native apps, and other surfaces. 
  • You will contribute to, evangelize, and translate the company’s vision, mission, and strategy in daily efforts for your team and rally them around it.
  • You will conduct the exploration of design challenges with a variety of methodologies and approaches to help your team orient in the problem spaces.
  • You will collaborate with UX researchers in defining quarterly research priorities in your product area, from evaluative testing to generative studies.
  • You will ensure your team applies actionable user insights from data and qualitative research to inform their designs and UX decisions.
  • You will oversee the application and development of Compass, the GYG design system, in your product area to drive consistency and improve usability.
  • You will directly mentor and develop Product and Content Designers in your team by helping them grow their hard and soft skills.
  • You will be a primary force in building a strong design culture in the GYG UX team and in the company as a whole.
  • You will drive recruitment efforts for new Product and Content Designers in your area and actively participate in the hiring process.
  • You will be in charge of communication with stakeholders to facilitate alignment, create shared understanding, and explain the rationale behind design decisions.
  • You will be an essential partner to your Director of Product Management in building your product area strategy and roadmap together.
  • You will work in close collaboration with Product Managers and Engineering Managers to ensure a high quality bar in the final implementation.
  • You will regularly present and collaborate with executives on product strategy as well as large initiatives in your product area.
What you should bring:
  • Minimum 7+ years experience with leading and managing a UX team in a start-up, SMB, large company with a digital offering, or design consulting agency;
  • An outstanding problem-solving mindset, focusing on outcomes and not output, and applying qualitative and quantitative methods to validate hypothesis;
  • A deep understanding of how UX design and research impact a business’ KPIs and a proven track record in achieving positive business results;
  • A proven track-record in leading large and complex design projects that demonstrate a human-centered approach and high-quality deliverables;Proficiency with designing for multiple platforms, including mobile and desktop and with approaches and techniques such as responsive design or mobile-first;
  • Examples that demonstrate a refined ability to creative direct visual design, including branding, composition, and UI components;
  • Examples that demonstrate a refined ability to direct UX writers, including tone-of-voice, UX writing guidelines, and their application;
  • In-depth familiarity with designing for multiple platforms, including Web, iOS, and Android, with approaches and methodologies such as responsive design or mobile-first;
  • Demonstrable proficiency in leading teams as they bring ideas to life through prototyping from simple click-thru mock-ups to higher fidelity functional proofs-of-concept;
  • Superlative presentation and communication skills, from presenting design concepts and final designs, to articulating the decision rationale behind them, to building a product vision;
  • Complete ownership of and autonomy in managing your own work stream and the work stream of a team of Product and Content Designers;
  • Extensive experience working closely within cross-disciplinary product teams, including Product Managers and Engineering Managers;
  • A history of strong communication and collaboration with other functional roles is essential;
  • A portfolio of case studies showcasing relevant work that illustrates your process, approach to UX design, and ability to lead a team;
  • Experience with Saas and B2B solutions is preferred but not required.
The role:

The Supplier UX Manager will be responsible for leading the UX team in the Supplier product area, which focuses on providing tools and capabilities to GetYourGuide suppliers. The Supplier team is highly strategic and mission critical for the success of GYG’s business. The team owns all the B2B solutions GYG develops for the suppliers of travel activities that populate our marketplace. The team’s mission is foundational - ultimately providing the basis of our customer user experience, from the growth and maintenance of our inventory and catalog to the definition of the data used to describe activities in our marketplace. Areas of responsibility include the tools suppliers use to upload their offering to our marketplace, the interfaces and flows suppliers employ to provide descriptions of the activities they offer, from price to semantic attributes, and the analytics driven insights that suppliers use to monitor their business with GYG.
