About the Role
We are looking for a tech-savvy problem solver who is dedicated to making sure our vendors have everything they need to be successful on Houzz. The ideal person is a self-starter with strong communication and buying skills who can quickly solve problems with the drive to grow our Houzz Marketplace. This job is based in Irvine, CA and will be a part of the Buying Team.
What You'll Do
  • Onboard vendors by presenting information related to the Houzz platform, demographics, Shop section and policy details for Houzz Direct and Trade Program
  • Negotiate improved terms for existing key accounts to increase overall profitability for Houzz. This includes the renegotiation of wholesale cost of goods, a higher allowance %, securing rebates, elimination of restocking and drop ship fees and updating vendor return policies to be favorable for Houzz
  • Work with Category Managers to analyze sales data of existing vendors to identify additional opportunities for improved terms
  • Collect product data to set a vendor’s full catalog live, as well as outreach for any missing or incomplete product data
  • Expand Trade product assortment while negotiating deeper trade discounts
  • Provide ongoing account management for existing non-key and key accounts as needed
  • Contribute to ongoing departmental growth and/or operational initiatives
  • Research and attend key industry trade shows as needed
  • Contribute to a positive work environment and embody the Houzz core competencies
  • At a Minimum, We'd Like You to Have
  • Previous buying-related experience preferably in the ecommerce space
  • Experience with negotiating
  • The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Impeccable verbal and written communication
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • A detail and task oriented mindset
  • Technical proficiency in Excel, Google Docs, Gmail, PowerPoint, etc.
  • A self-starter attitude with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities at one time and prioritize
