About the Role
Houzz is looking for a world-class BI Engineer to join our eCommerce Analytics team. Our mission is to assist Houzz eCommerce growth initiatives with data driven insights. Our team is working on discovering information hidden in vast amounts of data to make intelligent business decisions and to deliver better products. Critical projects will focus on data-driven insights to guide product development and business direction.
What You’ll Do
  • Collaborate with leadership, product, analytics, engineering, operations, and finance teams to identify, define, and launch strategic and operational initiatives to scale our eCommerce business
  • Work with operations, finance, analytics, and other business partners to drive the development of reporting and analytics platforms, establish and automate processes, and ensure accuracy in financials
  • Partner with operations and sales team to help automate manual workflows
  • Help continually improve ongoing data pipelines and automate or simplify self-service support for our business stakeholders
  • Own the end-to-end execution of projects by working with a broad cross-functional team
  • At a Minimum, We’d Like You to Have
  • B.A./B.S. degree in technical/quantitative disciplines or equivalent practical experience
  • 3+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or similar roles
  • Passion for and track record of leveraging data in an eCommerce environment
  • Advanced SQL Skills - ability to write complex and performant queries and data pipelines
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and deliver quality results
  • Ideally, You'll Also Have
  • Data engineering / ETL and data pipeline development experience
  • Proficiency in data modeling
  • Experience with modern distributed data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Hive, Impala, etc.)
  • Experience using Tableau
  • Experience influencing analysts in best practices
