Business Partnering sits within Finance team and our mission is to provide reliable financial analysis, build trusting relationships and provide advice on business decisions. As a result of iwoca’s rapid growth, we are now facing enhanced complexity resulting from providing multiple products to customers, more sophisticated debt structures and more complicated team structures. We want to hire a self-driven finance professional to solve problems that have not been solved before. As the first hire joining and reporting to the Business Partnering Manager, you will establish the function; on the one hand to respond to and pre emptying changes in the business, and on the other providing value adding and flexible financial models to the rest of the business.

What does your everyday work look like?

• Most of your assignments will be project based. You will be given a scope and a timeline to deliver. You will also be encouraged to be creative in problem solving and seek improvements where you can;
• About half of your time will be dedicated to business analytics, which includes improving the quality of data, advanced financial analysis and financial modeling. You will have the chance to make a difference in iwoca's data infrastructure;
• This will include significant contribution to the annual budget process;
• The other half will be structuring processes and communicating to other teams. We want to follow business updates closely at strategy and operational levels, as well as influence decision making based on our analysis; and
• There will also be ad-hoc tasks related to a variety of reporting going out from the Finance team, such as reporting to the Board, Strategy team and investors.

What we are looking for:

• Motivated to learn at a rapid pace and get stuff done with normally stretched resources;
• The ability to conceptualise a complex business situation and make clear documentation and instructions that make it simple;
• Enthusiastic about data and have the appetite to get your hands dirty and solve complex data issues from the very bottom; and
• Diligent, detail-oriented, hard-working and able to take ownership.

Requirements

Experience and qualification requirement:

• Proven experience in financial management consulting, valuation, auditing or FP&A function; Experience in or familiarity with the financial services industry is preferable;
• Highly skilled in Excel and financial modelling, capable of building a logical framework for problem-solving;
• Excellent communication skills and presentation skills; and
• Partially qualified / finalised (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent.

Due to the risk of coronavirus our team is working and also interviewing remotely. We’re still actively hiring for this positon and plan to set new employees up for success by being onboarded and also working remotely.
