Your Role
As our Software Architect, you will join Kreditech’s Architecture & Technology Team responsible for our overall IT Architecture and relevant processes. You will be working with other members of Architecture Team and our Senior Vice President Technology, taking over responsibility of refining the overall existing IT architecture as well as defining the strategic way forward. You see the bigger picture and dependencies between products and systems, business and IT architecture, as well as business strategy and its relevance to architecture decisions.
You will work on:
- Outline the best performance approach for our developers and our systems architecture
- Evaluate, refine and optimize Kreditech’s overall IT Architecture taking into account current and future strategic business direction
- You will design and develop tools & components that will shape the architecture of Kreditech’s systems
- Refine and improve definition of standard technology stack, processes and frameworks;
- Investigate, decide on, document and communicate overall IT architecture decisions;
- Work directly with the Engineering, Infrastructure and other Technology departments, designing solutions that continuously and sustainably improve the efficiency across the organization;
Your Strengths
- Master, Diploma or PhD in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Information Management or a related field;
- 7+ years practical experience working as IT Architect, Software Engineer or in a related role;
- Clear and precise communication skills both on management as well as engineering level;
- Abilities to explain architectural decisions, technology choices and their motivation;
- Strong practical experience in designing and building web applications and other distributed, loosely coupled systems;
- Knowledge in best practices and patterns within software engineering, as well as tools and frameworks and when to use them;
- A hands-on attitude as well as broad technical skillset allowing for prototype implementation of new tools, technologies and/or processes is seen as a must;
- Working experience within the Financial Services Industry, FinTech organizations and/or in a fast-growing startup environment is preferred;
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages, preferably including Scala, Java or Go;
- Experience of system design in cloud infrastructure like AWS, Azure or Google Cloud;
- DevOps know-how and hand-on experience with Continuous Integration tools like Jenkins or TeamCity;
- Experience dealing with messaging middleware and REST API design;
- Practical Project Management Experience or hands-on experience working in Agile development (e.g. Scrum) is a plus;
- Experience in vendor selection and management is an additional plus.
