Debtwire, the leading financial newswire for the fixed income markets, is looking for a driven journalist to expand its project finance coverage for its Debtwire CEEMEA product.

Working on the news desk, you will be chasing leads and publishing news ahead of all other media outlets.

This encompasses detailing upcoming projects, their appointed contractors, reporting on requests for financing proposals and financing details across the life of the transaction.  

Debtwire CEEMEA’s project finance coverage provides actionable intelligence for subscribers on situations across Central and Eastern Europe/CIS/Russia, Middle East and North Africa, plus sub-Saharan Africa. This role requires an analytical mind, a high attention to detail and a proactive approach to relationship development and source building in investment banks, law firms, advisors, companies and governments.

You will be responsible for producing commentaries and features on project finance topics, including legal and structural developments and will assist in the collection of associated data.

You will focus entirely on off-diary reporting and reporters are expected to use their own initiative to uncover leads from market sources.

The position will offer the opportunity for foreign travel and moderating at conferences.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Aspirations to break news and deliver actionable intelligence on debt issuers
  • An investigative mind and good writing skills
  • An understanding of fixed income markets, a strong grasp of and an interest in the broader financial markets
  • Outstanding networking and contact building skills
  • Excellent time management and communication skills
  • Experience of infrastructure markets and/or project finance would be highly advantageous, as will language skills and knowledge of the CEE and Russia markets.
