We’re looking for a Legal Counsel - Brazil to advise the management of our Brazil business in all legal issues relating to contract law, data protection law, banking and regulatory law, as well as in all other legal matters.

Once here you will

• Review and negotiate contracts independently and, in close cooperation with your supervisor, ensure compliance with national law/regulations
• Increase effectiveness and efficiency while at the same time minimizing/mitigating risks and contributing to customer-oriented products and services
• Serve as the primary point of contact for all questions relating to Brazilian contract law, banking law and banking supervisory law within our legal department
• Advise and coordinate all legal issues and disputes relating to the Brazilian market
• Assume the role as contact person for key partners, national supervisory authorities and advise the management accordingly
• Draft Brazilian Terms and Conditions and negotiate contracts with cooperation partners

What you will bring along

• Successfully completed the required legal examinations in Brazil, including the Exame da OAB
• Ideally, you have professional experience of at least 4 years, preferably in the legal department of a bank or a reputed law firm
• Ideally, you have already gained some work experience in retail banking law and banking supervisory law
• Well-versed in dealing with legal issues, contract texts in various fields of law as well as preparing recommendations for action for the management
• Hands-on and eager to tackle new topics while demonstrating a quick grasp and experience in conceptual project work
• Speak fluently Portugese (native language) and English (ideally acquired abroad)
• Entrepreneurial vision, prudence in challenging markets and high commitment and initiative
