Our team of over 700 employees in 3 locations is focused on reinventing the banking experience for the digital generation. Valentin Stalf and Maximilian Tayenthal founded N26 in 2013 and launched the initial product in early 2015. Since January 2015, N26 has been available for Android, iOS, and the desktop. As a Software Engineer, Web Development, you will be part of the team responsible for the development of our Internal Tools which include, for example, the system used by our Customer Service teams to provide information to our customers and solve their problems.
Once here you will
- Implement new features in one or more of the Internal Tools web applications on an ongoing basis
- Be in contact with the users of the Internal Tools to gather new requirements to make those tools better and more productive
- Actively discuss implementation details and architecture challenges with all the other team’s members
- Work together with the Product Development teams and any other department using our internal tools
- Embrace change and daily challenges while following the ideas of the Agile development methodologies
What you’ll bring along
- A strong knowledge of modern JavaScript and modern web development tools
- Recent experience with at least one modern client side, component oriented framework or library (React, Ember, Vue, you name it)
- Good knowledge of the most recent flavors of CSS and you can properly and semantically structure a HTML document on the spot
- Experience with JavaScript on the server (Node.js), consuming third party APIs, caching, rendering templates server-side and client-side, providing light API interfaces using Hapi, Express, etc.
- Having worked with SQL databases (e.g. PostgreSQL) and experience with data modeling is a plus
- A passion for reading and writing good documentation
- Good knowledge of GraphQL (possibly together with Apollo)
- A “test first” attitude and a soft spot for TypeScript
