Description
The Role:Develop, build out and scale our mission-based BI Team as Director of Business Intelligence to enable data-driven decision making and data access across teams. You will be leading and developing the Personio BI team, managing BI stakeholders and requirements, building up and maintaining a scalable BI infrastructure and defining a holistic data/ BI strategy for Personio.
Your main responsibilities will be:
Proactively understand business needs to translate them into outcome driven BI goals and actionable requirements
Manage expectations and communicate the BI roadmap to stakeholders across the company
Establish processes to assure efficient planning, prioritization, quality assurance and shipping of BI requests
Develop a data warehouse concept and scalable architecture and tech stack in line with our BI strategy
Build up, coach/ develop and scale the BI team to sustain overall company growth
Define a BI vision and strategy how to enable data-driven decision making and data access
Ensure high-quality reporting and data access to all relevant metrics/ data sources for major stakeholders
What you need to succeed:
Must-Haves:
> 5 years experience, both in an operational and leadership role
Background in computer science or business informatics
Profound experience in data modelling and data architecture
Experience in cloud computing and AWS
Profound knowledge in SQL and APIs
Hands-on experience of major BI technologies, e.g. ETL tools such as Fivetran or Stitch
Track record of successful scaling of a BI function (team, processes, tools, etc.)
Ability to structure, hire and develop outstanding team of “A-players”, especially ability to effectively coach and form a team of best-in-class business-driven BI analysts
Great communication skills and a clear vision of how to make BI successful
High degree of proactiveness and curiosity to understand, measure and improve business operations through data
Ability to set a clear focus on priorities and execute on them effectively
You understand internal customer satisfaction as one of your key success factors
Nice-to-Haves:
Work experience in fast-scaling B2B SaaS environment
High business acumen and knowledge of relevant business concepts/ key metrics (e.g. CLV, CAC, etc.)
Experience in Periscope, Sisense or other relevant data visualization tools such as Looker
Coding experience in Python
