Director of Technology Platform (m/f/d)

At Personio we are on the amazing journey of becoming the leading HR Platform in Europe!

In order to add further chapters to our success story, we are now introducing two new Director roles.

As Director of Technology Platform, you will be responsible for Personio’s core technology stack and a wide range of mission critical teams (Infrastructure, Developer Experience, QA, IT, Security, ...) to build a foundation for the next 10x scale. Together with the Director of Product Engineering, you will significantly contribute to Personio’s overall engineering strategy and our goal towards establishing Personio as a top technology company. 

• Create and further develop the technology platform organization, including org building, recruiting, capacity planning and budgeting

• Close collaboration and alignment with Director of Product Engineering

• Define Technology Platform to enable current and future products at >10x scale

• Contribute to overall engineering strategy and towards establishing Personio as a top technology company

• Develop your engineers through coaching, mentoring, and performance management

• Collaborate and align with VPE, Director of Product Engineering & CTO on initiatives and priorities

• Promote the “You build it you run it” principle across the engineering organization


• A self-starter who is driven by impact
• Strong organisational skills and an entrepreneurial drive with a history of hiring, mentoring and developing high-performing teams
• Experience with fast-growing environments and highly scalable technology stacks
• Comfortable in a fast-paced startup culture and embracing change
• Demonstrated ability in strategic planning, risk management, change management, and project management
• Full understanding of software development lifecycle best practices
• Proven track record of developing highly available, secure, performant and dynamic infrastructure with an ‘‘automate everything’ mindset
• Solid background in vendor management & cost negotiations
• Excellent cross-functional collaborative and communication skills working with multiple departments
• Proven experience with cloud services, security, platforms and management tools
• Deep technical understanding of the intersection of development and operations (DevOps), monitoring and management tools, and deployment processes and tools
