About the role


This role originates at the cross section of Finance and HR. The Senior Compensation Specialist will manage the global variable compensation program with a main focus on the go-to-market organisation.  Go-to-market (GTM) includes sales, marketing, customer experience, business development and other customer facing teams.  Designing, building, maintaining and analysing  the comp program will be your key responsibilities.  We are looking for an experienced professional with great communication skills, a hands-on attitude, and the ability to collaborate with a variety of our leadership team and contributors  around the world. The ability to understand  the needs of employees, leadership and business partners and design programs that drive successful outcomes is  critical in this role.


This is a role comprising compensation, finance, and revenue operations and is critical in supporting the remarkable growth of the global Showpad GTM team. Success in this role means leading the design of incentive compensation plans that are clear, measurable, cost-efficient, and drive the right behaviors to achieve business objectives. Working closely with the GTM teams, including leadership, as well as the broader executive team including the CFO, CRO and CCO. This role will have high visibility within the organization. Strong organizational and communication skills with a results-oriented mindset are imperative for success in this role.


 


Responsibilities include:


  • Own and manage all variable compensation programs
  • Ongoing analysis using ad hoc queries of sales compensation targets and achievements
  • Efficiency analysis of the various programs
  • Work on special projects such as process improvements, data analysis/compilation, presentations, report building and sensitivity and what if scenarios. 
  • Leverage analytics to drive clarity of designs and demonstrate sales plan performance 
  • Create, route and track variable compensation plans for all Showpad global teams
  • Calculate monthly, quarterly and annual variable compensation plans
  • Front line communicator for variable compensation questions
  • Recommend process and incentive plan improvements on efficiency and effectiveness 
  • Draft and execute variable compensation plans
  • Consult HR business partners and sales management to ensure understanding and consistency 
  • Communicate with field and relevant stakeholders on policy and program changes in a compelling and effective manner 
  • Work alongside Finance to model and forecast the cost of incentive compensation programs and plan designs 
  • Develop and implement a more automated variable compensation process

 


Qualifications: 


  • Bachelor’s or Master Degree in Business or related discipline 
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a Sales Operations, Finance or Comp & Ben team 
  • Presentation and strong communication skills, including consultative problem-solving skills 
  • Business writing ability and experience, as preferred means of internal communication of ideas, discussion, assessment and feedback 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under strict timelines 
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail 
  • Discretion and maturity given the confidential personnel data being handled daily 
  • Analytical skills, including knowledge of spreadsheet applications utilizing complex formulas 

 


Good to Have: 


  • Knowledge of a sales incentive system
  • Financial acumen, to include forecasting and financial modelling 
  • Knowledge of incentive plan structures (quotas, accelerators, pay mix, and on-target earnings)
  • Experience within high-tech industry, SaaS business models & needs is a plus
