TransferWise was founded in 2011 with a clear mission: Money without borders - so people and businesses can send and receive any currency effortlessly, whenever, wherever.

Sure, the heart of what we do is international money transfer. And we’re committed to making it instant, convenient and fair for millions of people, all over the world. But we’re growing our other products and our teams at an exciting pace. And we’re looking for the very best to jump on board.

What it’s really like to work here?

At TransferWise, we do things a bit differently. There’s no corporate nonsense and no old-fashioned hierarchy. Instead, we work in dozens of self-sufficient, autonomous teams. Think of them like start-ups within a start-up that learn from each other.

What you’ll be working on?

TransferWise is complex under the hood, but we’re just getting started. With our own payment rails, there are lots of opportunities to build new products and services on them. We need consistent frontend design which can better explain the power of the underlying products.

We’re open to ideas and technologies - our codebase is mainly Angular 1.5 but moving to ES6, Redux and perhaps React.

Technical Must haves

• Strong command over HTML, CSS and understanding of the best practices
• Expert knowledge of latest Javascript technologies, how they interact with DOM
• You have built front end experiences consuming REST APIs
• You have used the latest web stacks or libraries such as React, Angular, LESS, SASS
• You like writing clean, componentised and well-tested code, heavily favouring reuse
• Experience solving cross browser compatibility issues
• You have a proven track record of writing performant code with user accessibility front of mind
• You have written responsive and adaptive code to enable mobile web experiences

Nice to haves & Mindset

• You have a strong sense of good UX and design, and understand how to test some of your assumptions
• You like writing automated tests for your code
• You thrive on getting things done and measuring impact for customers.
• You aren’t afraid of failing
• You have a customer-focused approach to product development, putting the customer first when making decisions.
• Open to travel and work with Engineering teams from UK and Estonia
