Platform Engineer - Governance & Architecture

We are looking for a Platform Engineer to join our growing team in London or in Tallinn within our Governance and Architecture team.  

The team is responsible for building and designing the base platform in AWS.  This involves connectivity, defining guardrails, and implementing policy at the account/organisation level.

Your Mission

You’ll be part of a small team of engineers who build out the platform according to both strategic goals and incoming requests. You’ll be responsible for together with the team of operating on-premise data centres and driving the platform into AWS. You will get to work closely with our service platform team, who build the environments for our services to run whilst using kubernetes, terraform and Ansible, and are also building our development environments and maint config/secrets.

You’ll get to do all this whilst working across platform teams on architecting robust and secure infrastructure, designing infra-as-code solutions and enable product teams to use new and existing AWS products. You will have autonomy over working patterns and task selection and are able to contribute to regular ceremonies and planning.

Must Have

• Deep level AWS experience at scale
• AWS access management and user control
• Terraform module design and governance
• VPC (& peering)/Direct Connect/VPN/Transit Gateways
• General Linux systems administration and networking knowledge

Nice to Have

• VMWare/ESXi experience
• Hybrid on-prem/cloud environments
• Juniper SRX experience
• Understanding of distributed systems, Java code, ansible, k8s

• Cost reporting and tagging
• Terraform module architecture
• Risk analysis
• Disaster Recovery architecture
