Product Analyst - Risk & Anti Money Laundering

We’re looking for a Product Analyst to join our growing Anti Money Laundering Product team in Tallinn.Your mission is to scale AML by monitoring customer behavior, work with in-house-built machine learning capability, build and implement risk controls, and make sure that millions of customer continue to trust TransferWise to create a world where the money is without borders

So, what's the job?

• Develop AML/CTF risks and mitigation plans. You work with Money Laundering Reporting Officer, regional compliance officers, AML/CTF investigators, and various TransferWise product engineering teams to build an understanding of TransferWise AML/CTF risks - regions we operate in, types of customers, types of products we offer, etc.
• Build automated systems to identify suspicious activity. You will work hands-on with data, machine learning, with our AML investigators and other AML analysts to build systems that monitor and alert suspicious activity to our AML investigators. You will be constantly looking out for new types of crime and trying to make the monitoring systems more accurate. Supporting it with keeping up to date with recent trends in financial crime.
• You make it scale.Together will AML teams and product engineering, you will work cross-functionally to reduce the proportion of good customers bothered and scale manual processes to keep the size of our existing operations team under control.

A little bit about you

• Experience with product analysis (examples of analysing customer data to inform successful product changes - using SQL, Excel, Python, etc to do this)
• Excellent communication skills - you can summarise the complex, and present data visually in a way that makes people say “got it!”
• You go beyond the numbers and understand what the customer is thinking, combining data analysis with customer empathy and not afraid to pick up the phone and talk to our customers
• You live up to the TransferWise values and have deep knowledge about our product
• You’re a self-starter who’s comfortable working autonomously and with teams located across our offices

This role will give you the opportunity to

Promote data-driven product prioritisation and oversee the roll-out of new features

Identify growth opportunities in different customer segments through customer interviews and surveys, market research and competitor analysis

Together with the team you will set actionable KPIs to monitor our achievements and maximise the impact we have for our customers.

Not needed, but would be awesome

• Anti-Money Laundering / Compliance / KYC domain knowledge. Not everybody will have this, but if you did, or you would like to learn more about the domain, that would be awesome. Words like “placement”, “layering” and “integration”, “smurfing” and SAR would be a great place to start..
