Description

We’re looking for a Regulatory Product Compliance Manager to play a central role in the launch of our new investment product in Singapore and APAC. You will work with product managers based both in Singapore and London to support an expanding team of Expansion Leads, Engineers, Government Relations, Public Relations and Operations Specialists to help grow Wise’s presence in Singapore. In your role, you’ll ensure that Wise is fully compliant with the MAS’ criteria to offer investment products to its customers as a Capital Markets Service (“CMS”) Licensee. Your responsibilities will include:


Launch New Products and Features:


  • Collaborate with Product Teams throughout the product lifecycle: from design and user testing, to launch and post-launch monitoring.
  • Empower Product Teams to take a risk based approach to building products, processes and controls.  
  • Collaborate to the built of  practical and customer oriented product solutions while ensuring that the product remains compliant;
  • Identify opportunities to improve our product proposition / competitiveness by thoroughly analysing relevant regulations and challenging existing interpretations and market practice. 

Manage and Mitigate Regulatory Risks: 


  • Identify and manage Regulatory Risks for the new investment product; 
  • Perform pre-launch and ongoing risk assessments, offering effective advice to Product Managers on existing and forthcoming regulations, gaps and risks; 
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Compliance Oversight and Regulatory Liaison to ensure Product Teams are aware of new and upcoming regulations for CMS licensees . 

You’ll be appointed on the board of our local entity to report on CMS license activities


A bit about you:


  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in retail investments and 5 years of managerial experience.   
  • Deep working knowledge of the MAS’ Securities and Futures act (“SFA”). 
  • Familiar with the evolving regulatory expectations of the MAS with regards Capital Market firms and ideally even Payment Services / Electronic Money firms;
  • Problem solving attitude, with the ability to use regulations together with data to drive business decisions; 
  • Experience (or interest) in working in a fast-growing technology driven environment; 

Nice to have but not essential


  • You have an understanding of payment systems and the Payment Services Act (“PSA”)
  • You have worked in a startup or scale-up environment in the past.
