Senior Engineer focused on QA

Description

We’re looking for a Senior Engineer with strong experience in QA to join our Engineer Experience team in London.

You will be leading cross-team efforts to ensure high quality releases while also improving iteration speed. You’ll provide hands-on help for multiple autonomous teams inside TransferWise to develop and test large distributed systems

Your mission:

• Understanding the challenges faced by the different teams in TransferWise, identifying which teams need help to ensure high quality releases.
• Helping teams to improve their process and practices, allowing them to gain confidence in their changes, thus enabling fast iteration.
• Taking ownership of capability programs to empower the teams to solve their own challenges.
• Working with other engineers to create and maintain the cross-team tools required to achieve high quality releases.

A bit about you

• You have worked with large systems and implemented tests in a microservice architecture
• You have experience testing synchronous and asynchronous applications
• You have experience writing unit tests, integration tests, contract test, end-to-end test, etc.
• You have experience with practices related to testing in production, like monitoring, alerts, feature toggles, etc.
• You have strong experience with Continuous Delivery
• You have strong communication skills and ability to articulate complex and technical concepts across multiple teams
• You’re willing to travel, to work and learn with dev teams in our office around the world
• You’re excited to work in a disruptive, fast-growing and fun environment
• You are open, communicative, and a team player

Nice to haves:

• Experience with Agile methodologies
• Java background, preferably with Spring Boot
• Experience with Kubernetes
• Experience testing Angular and/or React applications
