Senior Product Manager - Fraud Prevention

Your mission:

TransferWise has already pioneered new ways for people to transfer money across borders and currencies. Our customers can also manage their hard-earned money with the world’s first platform to offer true multi-currency banking. Your mission is to build a product that redefines the world of fraud prevention to stop financial crime, prevent financial losses and provide a seamless experience for our customers. 

This role is a unique opportunity to have an impact on TransferWise’s mission and grow as a product leader. 

Here’s how you’ll be contributing to our Fraud Prevention team:

• You’ll work with a team of engineers and analysts enhance our fraud prevention algorithms using the latest machine learning best practices
• You’ll collaborate with other areas within fraud like data science and operations to build the smooth and automated processes
• You’ll clearly define success and evaluate progress with both qualitative and quantitative methods
• You’ll collaborate with operational teams, understanding that they’re made up of people as well as processes and products
• With full ownership of your area, you’ll understand, frame, and prioritise the problems worth tackling. Creating a clear roadmap that helps your team get closer to the mission
• You’ll empathise with our customer’s pain points and think of solutions to improve their experience

 

This role will give you the opportunity to:

About  you:

• You’re a seasoned product manager that has shipped products, interpreted feedback and data and made important iterations
• You know the world of fraud involves imperfect information and unplanned events, and you’re always looking for ways to outsmart fraudsters and contain potential losses
• You believe in the TransferWise mission and know how to inspire a team to dream big, align on a common vision, and draw a clear path to get there
• You’re passionate about growing your team and getting the best out of people as well as continuing to grow and develop yourself
• You have an understanding of how systems are built, and you’re able to write your own SQL to help your team prioritise and ship new features
• You have some experience in Risk, Security, Trust & Safety or Compliance and evaluate product decisions with a risk impact mindset 

Some extra skills that are great (but not essential):

• An understanding of machine learning and the best practices for scaling an ML engine
• Some experience spent working with teams across borders and timezones
• Some coding experience
