Your responsibility:
Travelcircus is seeking a Web Developer to join the development team. We're looking for someone who's passionate about building robust & scalable technology platforms, systems, and APIs. You'll be an integral part of the engineering team and will work closely with others throughout our company to deliver the best possible product to our customers. Ideal candidates will have profound experience with PHP, API development, and Service-Oriented Architecture. This position is full-time and based in our great office in Berlin.
Things you will work on:
- Build and extend our Platform Services and Booking Systems
- Designing, developing, and maintaining a robust transactional API platform, that will be used internally and directly by 3rd parties
- Identify and address performance issues
- Participate in design and code reviews
- Identify and prototype best practices for backend engineering
- Improving our existing e-commerce platform codebase
- Writing and maintaining complex SQL queries in codebase
Skills & requirements
:
- 3+ years of experience building web applications
- Expert knowledge of PHP5/OOP, MySQL-databases and data modelling
- Experience building API platforms
- Knowledge about web services (REST/SOAP)
- Ability to write high-performance and reusable PHP code-modules
- Experience with high-end, high traffic web applications
- Solid understanding of SQL and ability to write/maintain complex queries
- Exposure and experience with Service-Oriented Architecture
- Strong visual, verbal, and written communication skills
- Exposure to Continuous Delivery and Continuous Deployment
- Experience working in Agile environments
