Our Story
Brothers Paul Van Doren and Jim Van Doren along with partners Gordon Lee and Serge Delia open for business at 704 E. Broadway in Anaheim, Calif. on March 16. The Van Doren Rubber Company is unique in that it manufactures shoes on premises and sells them directly to the public.
Since then the Vans® brand has been connecting with youth culture to promote creative self-expression, authenticity and progression for nearly 50 years, while linking the brand’s deep roots in action sports with art, music and street culture. Today, the Vans® brand evolution continues. From its foundation as an original skateboarding company, to its emergence as a leading action sports brand, to its rise to become the world’s largest youth culture brand — the Vans® brand has taken on a power that matches its business performance.

Mission
Vans goes to market through its network of deeply rooted wholesale partners and its direct-to-consumer platform with more than 500 owned retail stores worldwide. Given this amazing platform to connect with consumers, we're constantly looking for better and more creative ways to amplify the brand's in-store presence.
And equally strong is the Vans' extraordinary e-commerce and social media presence, inclusive of its digital video platform, OffTheWall.tv. Through its various online channels, Vans has access to over 14 million brand loyalists at any given time.
