Purpose

Drive and support our transformation with the leading- and fastest growing European Digital Partners and Top Digital Key Accounts for Timberland. 

Focus of this newly created role will be on Zalando with the key objective to create and implement new ways of working to elevate our Merchandising aligned with the fast-paced digital business of Zalando.

Fully responsible for creating a clearly defined consumer-minded 3yrs long-range plan and seasonal assortment strategies and implementation starting from merchandise financial planning, seasonal planning, forecasting and cross-functional go-to-market alignment to on-site execution and performance tracking and optimization.

The Digital Marketplace Merchandising Manager will play a crucial role to further strengthen and develop our mutually beneficial and long-term partnership with Zalando as one of our key strategic partners for Timberland EMEA.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and establish best-in-class digital Merchandising Buying and Planning process fully aligned with our overall brand strategy, purpose-led positioning and with the seasonal merchandising strategy in strong relationship with brand GTM calendar to ensure seamless execution and strong accelerated growth.
  • Full ownership to manage the performance of the defined assortment, working closely with assigned Merchandising and Key Account Management team to deliver on Merchandising and financial KPIs and profitability.
  • Work cross-functionally to optimize operations in order to ensure smooth, efficient physical and digital processing of inventory
  • Build and ensure trustful and seamless relationship with Zalando Category teams.
  • Controlling OTB for all channels incl. Zalando Partner Program (Digital direct) to maximize sales, gross margin and inventory turn.
  • Help inform and build 3-year strategic Merchandise Financial Plans (MFP) based on Timberland EMEA strategic priorities (Men’s Footwear, Women’s Footwear, Men’s Apparel) and key digital marketplace consumer insights.
  • Driving pricing strategy constantly aligned with channel- and market trends, performance and specific trading events (end of season sales, mid-season sales, cyber week, etc.).
  • Help to set elevated standards of trading and inventory management processes constantly delivering best practices.
  • Optimise ways of working by contributing in setting up new processes, tools and reports.
  • Drive and maintain effective teamwork across our functions to jointly create and manage account specific annual- and seasonal GTM plans fully aligned with our overall brand strategy and purpose-led positioning.
  • Full responsibility to drive effective planning and cross-functional alignment together with the Zalando Key Account Management team based on defined and fully aligned KPIs and performance management tools.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

  • 5+ yrs. of relevant work experience with proven track record in Merchandise Buying, ideally including 2-3 yrs. of experience in Merchandise Planning or equivalent Business Planning role
  • Relevant Merchandise Buying & Planning experience within a fast-paced retail business, ideally a multi-branded eCommerce retailer
  • Deep understanding of the fast-paced digital environment and merchandising success factors on digital platforms
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Outstanding business- and financial acumen
  • Consumer-first, data savvy and brand-driven mindset
  • Highly performance driven and result-oriented team player who is getting things done
  • High maturity in managing organisational complexity and effective communication
  • Strategic and operational decision-making
  • Language skills: fluent in English and preferably min. one more EU language
