It combines various ways to communicate and collaborate and having fun doing it, such as high quality calls, video calls, file sharing, screen sharing, as well as fun features like sketch, GIFs and much more. 

Wire was founded by Alan Duric, Priidu Zilmer and Jonathan Christensen in 2012. The Swiss company has a development center in Berlin, Germany. The team comes from a wide range of backgrounds, united by shared passion for communication, design and technology.

We are looking for a motivated, fast learning QA Automation Engineer with good programming, problem determination, and communication skills. The role will be supporting user story testing and automating in a high percentage of test cases for efficient CI processes. The successful candidate is someone who is passionate about quality improvements and is a team player. The applicant should have basic knowledge of Java programming and a strong interest in webapp testing.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain automated test cases 
  • Monitor automation testing results and file bugs to ensure product functionality and reliability

    Our team’s role is to develop our backend services, ranging from authentication and authorization services to storage services, as well as to to build and maintain our infrastructure, ensuring that it runs 24/7. Our infrastructure is set up in the cloud: automated builds, continuous deployments and integration tests for our services are all part of our development pipeline.   • Deploy and run our services in the cloud (currently we use AWS)
  • Automate our infrastructure deployment and management (using ansible or other), together with other in-house developed tools; we are migrating to Kubernetes though so experience there is highly valued!
  • Manage our own Cassandra/ElasticSearch clusters
  • Ensure services are up and running 24/7

  • Develop new features for the Wire Android client in Scala
  • Assist in the maintenance of the Wire Android client, improving code quality and readability, and fixing bugs

  • Create and execute test cases for new stories
  • Develop test cases in Java following the BDD process
  • Collaborate with the designers on spec and use cases
  • Automate and maintain test cases on the CI server
  • Find, troubleshoot, investigate bugs and log them in Jira
  • Work closely with the software developers
  • Share insights and bugs with the other QA members
