Sharing knowledge is one of our core values. As a Data Engineer, you will be an essential part of our Data team, inspiring and sharing your expertise with your colleagues.

You will be working closely with a number of other teams too, including data science, engineering, and game teams, to ensure that we can collect and action the data in the best possible way. Some of your responsibilities include:

  • You will build, improve and maintain our data calculation and visualisation tools.
  • You will redesign our data pipeline in Airflow.
  • You will collaborate with our data scientists to productionalise their models.
  • You will contribute to our new segmentation and clustering service.
  • You will operate our data infrastructure. We are strong believers in a “DevOps” setup, meaning there is no separation of development and operations. You will build tools and services that do not fail, but if they fail you will be able to fix them.
  • About you

  • You have profound knowledge and experience in Python, maybe also in Scala or Java.
  • You have built data applications in Python.
  • You know that KAFKA is not just an author.
  • You are familiar with cloud services like AWS, know the benefits of systems like Kubernetes or platforms like Airflow.

    At Wooga, data is a key driver in making strategic decisions in Live Games. As Game Data Analyst you will analyze large-scale data across customer touch points in order to generate insightful metrics, custom dashboards and deep dive analyses to measure performance.

    Our game teams are aiming for best-in-class services to our players with frequent, meaningful game and content updates as well as driving innovation around personalized game experiences. The product team you will join collaborates across design, engineering, art, and central service teams: our mission is to drive innovation at Wooga through deep qualitative & quantitative research.  

    We're looking for a passionate and results-oriented talent to join our product team and develop new insights to shape data driven decisions, continuously improve our player’s experience and thereby help us to generate business growth for years to come. Some of your other responsibilities will include:

  • Dive deep into the large-scale data to identify key insights that will inform product improvements and business strategy.
  • Help define how best to measure and monitor our product and its features.
  • Develop an analysis strategy and perform analysis of complex scenarios and AB-tests, both systematically and on a one-off basis.
  • Engage with the product, engineering and service team members as a thought partner and provide an analytics perspective to discussions.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with key stakeholders across the company in order to successfully deliver actionable insights.
  • Partner with Data Science and Data Engineering on data gathering, data governance, democratizing data with reporting tools and evangelizing KPIs.
  • Carefully check, debug, and problem solve issues to ensure you deliver accurate and clear analysis and reports.
  • Translate business needs to technical requirements and AB-tests, then work with development teams to ensure correct implementation and tracking.
  • Communicate actionable results and findings derived from data throughout the organization in a clear, concise way.
  • Be the pro-active owner of the entire data chain for your product.
  • About you

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Computer Science, CIS/MIS, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering or relevant field.
  • 1-2 years of recent experience in a business analyst role. Preferably experience in the app industry or related field.
  • You can use SQL effectively and you have a good understanding of commonly applied statistical techniques.
  • You have good problem solving skills and can look for logical connections between consumer behavior and data.
  • You have a good sense for the market, you are in tune with player patterns and understand customers.
  • You have strong monetization design understanding and you analytically understand what makes a game great!
  • You know your way around designing, communicating, visualising or reporting your results/analysis so they are clear and unambiguous.
  • You have excellent written and verbal skills in English. All of our internal communication at Wooga is in English. German skills are not required.

    Job purpose :

    This exciting internship position, which is part of our Young Talent program, is open to students currently enrolled in a university. As part of the program, you will join one of our game development studios and become a fully integrated team member. Here you will learn how we develop games and advance your skills through a combination of instructed training and hands-on experience. You will quickly be given your own projects where you will have the opportunity to contribute towards the improvements of our games. You will be able to bring in your own ideas and realize projects that will be played by millions of players all around the world.

    About you
  • Bachelor or masters students currently enrolled at a university in a Games Programming (highly preferred), Computer Science, or similar program and must be in your last semester of studies before graduating 
  • You must be able to dedicate at least 5 months to the internship and must be enrolled as a student during this entire period
  • Previous experience working with Unity 3D and C#
  • Knowledge in any of the following a plus: mobile development, Objective-C, Actionscript, Ruby, OOP
  • Eager to code with an ability to learn fast and familiarize yourself with new subjects areas
  • Good product and design sense
  • A ‘getting things done’ mentality
  • Excellent English communication skills and a strong capacity for teamwork

    As our next Game Writer, you are skilled at building worlds, creating exciting story hooks, and bringing memorable characters to life in concise, clear, characterful dialogue. You can work with artists and narrative designers to ensure that the game’s narrative vision is carried through the game. You understand your audience and can put on your “player hat” to ensure the story remains entertaining. You understand the limits and are excited by the opportunities of storytelling in the free-to-play space.

  • Help design and tell serialized, character-driven stories using free-to-play game mechanics
  • Collaborate with the team on worldbuilding and character creation
