About the job:The Adventure Studio at Wooga is looking for a Game Writer to join our writing team and support current and future projects. Storytelling is a vital element of our hidden object games, and Wooga aims to be an industry leader in storytelling in the casual space. In this role, you will work with the guidance of the lead writer to develop rich characters and game worlds for an audience of millions of players.
What you will do:
- Brainstorm story ideas in a writers’ room setting
- Write dialogue for serialized story chapters
- Workshop and provide feedback on dialogue in a writers’ room setting
- Support the design and art teams in bringing the game and its story to life
- Explore ways to expand Wooga’s IP
- Develop worlds, stories, and characters for future hidden object games and other story-driven genres
What you bring:
- Ability to craft stories within the constraints of the free-to-play and hidden object genres
- A good ear for clear, characterful dialogue
- Enthusiasm for the process of receiving, sharing, and implementing feedback
- Strong collaborative and communication skills
- Ability to analyze the structures of different interactive narrative approaches is preferred
- Familiarity with a wide range of fiction genres is preferred
- Previous experience writing stories for video games is a plus
- An understanding of game design and how it impacts storytelling is a plus
- English speaking at a Native level
