Sr. Manager Risk Portfolio (Head of Risk Portfolio Management)

Funding Circle’s Risk Team is looking for an enthusiastic, smart, results-driven Head of Risk Portfolio Management to join and support the exponential growth of our business.  Our Risk Team are quantitative analysts who can extract meaningful business insights from customer data, and leverage predictive models to create decision strategies that will optimize business performance.

The Risk Portfolio Manager is responsible for managing our loan originations portfolio; while driving operational strategy in these areas. The Risk Portfolio Manager works closely with the US CRO.

Birds-eye view of the role:

• Managing the portfolio of originated loans in terms of:

• Tracking portfolio performance along key credit metrics (delinquency, defaults and roll rates)

• Understand parts of the portfolio showing under performance and provide feedback to the UW process/models

• Setting up and managing the portfolio monitoring process to understand accounts with high risk concerns based on external monitoring.

• Define treatment strategy for accounts in delinquent/ default status and partner with collections team to ensure appropriate actioning on these acccounts

• Take the lead to ensure implementation for all risk controls as defined by credit policy governance document and track adherence to the same.

• Support the CRO in managing the monthly Credit Risk Committee. Ensure follow-ups from CRMC meetings are actioned.

• Support the CRO in managing communication to investors as required

• Network effectively with counterparts in risk operations to ensure delivery on risk goals and adherence to risk policy

Our ideal teammate has:

• Masters degree in quantitative/finance related field required

• 7+ years of experience in a portfolio risk management role in financial services

• Prior small business lending experience is a significant plus

• Proficient with analytical tools like Excel VBA, QlikView, Tableau, R or SAS, Python

• Proven problem-solving skills using logical reasoning and analytical methods

• Excellent ability to translate complex problems into clear and simple stories
