We are looking for several Senior Ruby on Rails Developers for our Infrastructure Department to start immediately in our office in Berlin, Germany!

Your responsibilities will be:

  • Deliver high quality web applications from designing and iterating new features into production in short sprint cycles
  • Independently build, maintain and take on ownership of complex software modules and services
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to inform API design and architectural decisions
  • Maintain and make use of a good overview of the overall technology stack and infrastructure
  • Shape, facilitate and survey coding guidelines and quality standards
  • Understand and take ownership the system performance and health
  • React, troubleshoot and solve operational events (bugs and incidents)
  • Independently focus on continuous learning and improvement and drive the evolution of our engineering practices
  • You:

  • Are experienced in building scalable systems and applications using Ruby, Node.js, or Go
  • Are experienced with at least one component-based frontend framework like React
  • Know how to test software on different levels: unit, integration, contract and E2E
  • Are able to analyse metrics about system health and performance
  • Enjoy learning and improving myself
  • Understand lean and agile practices
  • Have good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Are fluent in written and spoken English
  • Nice to have:

  • Experience in using cloud services (ideally AWS)
  • Experience with NoSQL databases (DynamoDB, MongoDB)
  • First Experience with any infrastructure as code tool (ideally Terraform)
  • Basic knowledge of statistics necessary to set up and understand metrics

    We are looking for a Product Manager - Learning (f/m/d) to start immediately in our office in Berlin, Germany! 

    You will:

  • be responsible for safeguarding, creating, and delivering an amazing learning experience
  • drive a user-centred design based on clear KPIs and data.
  • lead the ideation and launch of innovative learning features and products  through hands-on collaboration in cross-functional teams that include internal and external developers, designers, user researchers, analysts, didactics experts, and marketers in an agile environment
  • create buy-in on priorities and deliverables with stakeholders, including pitching product concepts and presenting progress/results to C-level executives
  • prototype and test new features / products that capitalize on market opportunities as well as define go-to-market strategy for minimum viable products in partnership with marketing and business development while upholding the best use of educational technology methodologies and approaches
  • translate product strategy into flexible user stories and/or prototypes so that engineering teams can deliver working software fast
  • measure, monitor and analyze metrics to optimize existing features and to learn from minimum viable features / products
  • develop not only features but also new products using market analysis, competitive benchmarking, and business cases to make a difference in the learning of users, as well as impacting revenue and return on investment
  • support senior product managers in creating and executing on cross-platform product strategy and vision that solve real problems for our learners in ways that meet business needs
  • develop and execute a product strategy and vision, aligned to company goals and commercial strategy, to deliver a product portfolio that is recognised as best in the industry
  • You have experience in:

  • online product management with a proven track record of end-to-end delivery of  successful educational products, preferably consumer-focused SAAS (3-6 years)
  • experience with mobile first and cross-platform feature design, validation and roll-out
  • understanding of learning methodologies and technology and how it might be applied to help solve relevant problems for our learners
  • delivering  2-3 projects at the same time without much supervision
  • You have:

  • a university degree, e.g. in Education, Linguistics, Business Administration or Computer Science
  • an ownership mentality, entrepreneurial drive, and proven ability to persuade your colleagues that what they are investing their time, money, and careers in will be successful
  • excellent oral and written communication skills, fluent English is a prerequisite, second language is a plus.
  • worked in education or edtech
  • You are:

  • a professional product person who is passionate about improving language learning, and knows when to apply attention to detail, when to make raw prototypes quickly, and when to consult experts

    Beat, Babbel's creative services team, is seeking a first class Localisation Lead who will guide a team of localisation managers and linguists!

    Your role will be to collaborate with the creative services team and external stakeholders to deliver localised copy and translations across multiple touch points. You will also work closely with internal customers varying from marketing, PR, Product, New Business Initiatives, Didactics, Customer Service, etc. You will also be responsible for providing guidance and leadership to your team in order to achieve planned results.

  • 2+ years experience in the localisation or translation industry within a senior project management or coordination role
  • 5+ years of experience in localisation or translation industry
  • Experience with localisation or translation tools (specifically CAT tools) and vendors
  • Great people skills to inspire and challenge the status quo
  • Ability to manage a team, motivate people and lead by example
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines, organise and manage complex tasks, projects and resources both on operational and strategic level

    Der Babbel Kundenservice besteht aus einem internationalen Team und beantwortet Anfragen in sieben verschiedenen Sprachen. Unser Kundenservice läuft online über das Ticket System Zendesk, wir beantworten Anfragen per Telefon, Live-Chat, Social-Media und E-Mail.

    Deine Aufgabe ist die Beantwortung von Kundenanfragen schwerpunktmäßig per Live Chat und telefonisch sowie per E-Mail. Wir legen großen Wert auf hohe Servicequalität und bieten Dir entsprechend eine intensive Einarbeitung und Betreuung.
