We are looking for a Director of International Growth for our office in Berlin! 

Your mission as a Director of International Growth will be to grow Babbel’s footprint in over 160 countries worldwide. You will be helping all language learners from Greenland to New Zealand learn foreign languages.

You will:

• Be the champion of subscriber & business growth within the company
• Define Babbel’s growth strategy together with the CMO
• Lead the team of six Country Managers who define their respective country strategies and execute all B2C marketing & sales activities in their regions (160+ countries)
• Coach and develop each Country Manager (who lead 10+ dotted-line reports each)
• Manage the country portfolio including the full P&L across regions & cross-geo budget allocations
• Ensure Babbel’s revenue and subscription base targets are met together with the Performance Marketing, CRM & Brand teams
• Drive analysis and share actionable learner insights to help improve overall performance
• Develop & lead growth projects, including new channels, partnerships and new market entries
• Establish a culture of experimentation & failure
• Reporting directly to the CMO

You have:

• 8+ years of experience in (online) marketing, strategy consulting, business development, growth strategy and/or new market entries
• 4+ years of experience directly leading a team, including hiring, developing and motivating employees
• Full fluency in spoken and written English. Language learning passion is a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal & leadership skills and strategic thinking
• Solid analytical skills and finance understanding
• Previous experience with an online and/or subscription business model is a plus.
• Team player with an entrepreneurial start-up attitude, hands-on mentality, high motivation and willingness to learn.
• International work experience & business network
