We are looking for a (Senior) Product Data Scientist to join our Data Analytics Team in Berlin!

Our Analytics Team is committed to helping their many internal stakeholders make daily calls on Product initiatives. Our fast moving business relies heavily on the support of insight-driven decision making. You can help the team of data scientists and their stakeholders evaluate features and product performance. You will also shape the role of data science at Babbel, e.g. by organising (and participating in) hackathons, reading groups, or brown bag sessions.

You will:

• Design and analyse hypothesis-based A/B experiments and foster data-driven decision making in the organisation
• Perform prescriptive and model-based data analyses that drive business and functional decisions in Product
• Shape and define the team’s workflows by developing and improving analysis standards and best practices
• Mentor and support your peers
• Own the data chain from defining tracking and tracking standards to reporting and communicating insights based on event data
• Design, implement and automate reports and analytics tools for our internal customers, to drive growth and optimise operational tasks
• Provide an analytics perspective to discussions

You have:

• At least four years data analysis experience, preferably for a digital product
• A proven track record of creating analytics tools (e.g. dashboards, analysis automation)
• In-depth experience designing and analysing A/B experiments
• Strong technical skills with either Python or R
• Proven experience working with SQL and relational database and distributed systems
• Technical skills with console or terminal in OSX or Linux
• In-depth knowledge of applied statistics
• A strong business sense, and excellent data visualisation and presentation skills
• Some initial leadership and mentoring experience
• Fluency in English to navigate the international environment at Babbel

Nice to have:

• Experience with Spark
• General software engineering skills
