Job Description

Why join us?

We are looking for a seasoned Deputy CTO to support our BtoB Engineering team based in Kiev and strengthen the bridge through smooth communication between our BtoB CTO and other executives and teams (Product, People, Marketing, Finance, Customer Relations and Legal) across BlaBlaCar, enabling effective cross-functional collaboration across the company. As the right-hand person of the CTO, you will be responsible for building relationships and processes, and ensuring all teams work smoothly together in an agile way. 

You will report to the BtoB CTO based in Kiev.  

What you will directly contribute to:

Communication

• Ensuring communication alignment between the Busfor B2B team and the relevant departments of the Central office: we will rely on you to communicate and collaborate with the Paris based engineering teams

• Articulating and communicating technical challenges to cross-country stakeholders, contributing to the roadmap, both for your teams and for the Pro Partner engineering department

Product management

• Performing the transformation of the existing project management processes to the standards of BlaBlaCar

• Managing current B2B product development projects

• Organizing training of product/project managers to improve both the efficiency of the project management process and the value of the product for the business unit

Management 

• Creating and nurturing a culture of collaboration, performance, and accountability across the teams

• Supporting the Tech Management team governance (running weekly Engineering Management team meetings, ensuring communication of the key decisions and following-up on action)

Qualifications

What you will need to be successful:

• 8+ years of experience having managed engineering teams and geographically distributed projects

• 7+ years of overall software development lifecycle experience and product management experience

• Significant cross-functional project experience, working with many stakeholders across countries (France - Ukraine - Russia or others)

• Strong track record in technical contribution, ability to challenge technical solutions

• Hands-on, detail-oriented, pragmatic and collaborative attitude

• Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to influence others

• Comfortable with change, uncertainty and a high-velocity environment

• Fluent in English & Ukrainian

• Business Trips: this position will include regular trips to Paris, France
