By joining the V3 team, you will be part of a team which today consists of 4 Software Engineers and 1 Engineering Manager responsible for our carpooling website on a backend level, i.e. pretty much everything but the search and the payment domains right now.You will be fully part of the team routine and roadmaps where the mission is mainly to migrate from our monolith to microservices by building new ones or integrating existing ones (external or internal). That being said, our responsibility is to be the guarantor of the reliability of the existing platform (performance, security & bugfix) that runs our PHP code on a daily basis for over 87 millions members. 

While our monolith runs on the Symfony framework using PHP7.4, we are transitioning towards our new stack based on JAVA services (Spring Boot) and running on GCP.As a Software Engineer, you will regularly learn and contribute to the development of the stack by developing features and helping the team to build a cloud compatible architecture. What you will directly contribute to

• Pursue the migration to a fully service oriented architecture by helping building and extract new services from the existing monolith;

• Maintain the existing platform;

• Participate in the definition of the features with the product and design teams to find the most relevant solutions for our members;

• Participate in the definition of the architecture to find the best solutions to achieve high performance and reliability.

Qualifications

What you will need to be successful:

• ​​​​​​​A first significant experience in engineering teams within tech companies;

• Comfortable with PHP language development (JAVA is a plus) and eager to constantly learn new technologies;

• Ability to lead a team and bring people together towards common goals

• Fluent in spoken and written English, proficiency in French is a plus;

• Comfortable with change, uncertainty, and a high velocity environment;

• Curious, autonomous, and collaborative attitude;
