Looking for a job to get you out of bed?Casper is looking for a Director of Quality to join our Operations team in our San Francisco office. The Director of Quality will report into the SVP of Operations and work closely with our Product Design, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, CX and Sourcing teams to ensure the highest level of quality of Casper's products and services.
The Director of Quality Assurance position is responsible for establishing a corporate quality assurance system and team that promotes customer satisfaction and that positively impacts the financial performance of Casper. Champion continuous improvement efforts and defect reduction initiatives to establish an effective Quality Management System. Represent the voice of the customer.
When you’re not catching zzz’s, this is what you’ll do
- Development and implementation of Casper Quality Management System and quality strategy.
- Lead the development and implementation of a formal cost of quality program.
- Establish quality and reliability standards for products and services by analyzing product and consumer requirements.
- Initiate and implements quality improvement activities as to improve the performance of the company’s products and services
- Manage quality assurance team.
- Support product engineering efforts by participating in design and development projects representing quality assurance and the customer.
- Lead the development and implementation of procedures for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection.
- Establishe quality goals and implements metrics for monitoring system effectiveness.
- Lead root-cause analysis and problem resolution to identify effective corrective actions and process improvements.
- Establish collection and analysis systems of statistical data to predict trends that will affect improvement of product and service quality.
- Analyze customer feedback to establish efficient, cost-effective requirements for quality improvement opportunities, ease of manufacture and reproducibility.
- Develop quality planning methods for all product lines and services.
- Monitor vendor performance and establishes criteria and rating system for critical vendors.
- Oversee calibration and testing programs.
- Report to management on quality issues, trends and losses.
- Interface with supplier and customer representatives concerning problems with quality and assures that effective corrective action is implemented.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering required- MBA or Masters degree preferred
- 7+ years of experience in quality director or management role.
- Lean manufacturing experience preferred
- 6 Sigma and ISO:9001 quality system knowledge preferred
- ASQ certifications preferred
- Flexibility to travel between 25-50% of the time
- Strong project management and cross-functional working style preferred
- Must love sleep!
