Freelance Quality Engineer

Overview

Casper is looking for a freelance Quality Engineer to join our Operations team in our San Francisco for a limited six month engagement.  The Quality Engineer will work directly with our Quality Director and work closely with product development, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to ensure the highest level of quality of Casper's products.  

Day to Day:

• Responsible for evaluating manufacturing processes in contract manufacturing locations
• Develop manufacturing processes in accordance with product design specifications
• Establish QC Audit processes and in depth test methods for our manufacturers to ensure the highest level of quality
• Conduct testing of finished products
• Identify root causes of product defects by working with our Customer Experience team to dive into interaction data
• Determine process capability and proper work flow methods

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial, electrical or mechanical engineering required
• 5+ years of experience as a manufacturing engineer
• Lean manufacturing experience preferred
• 6 Sigma and quality system knowledge preferred
• Strong project management and cross-functional working style preferred
