Your Role:As the Finance Manager (m/f/d) for our growing Finance department, you will join experienced colleagues in setting up best practices and developing the future across all finance functions.
Your Role:
Work alongside the Head of Finance for financial and business planning tasks including full year budgeting and quarterly rolling forecasts, business development, and corporate strategy scenarios
Provide technical expertise on insurance topics across HGB, SII, and (later) IFRS, especially in conjunction with the addition of new products / partnerships. Lead efforts on technical research.
Support the Head of Finance in developing and managing financial and business analytical reporting sets for external and internal stakeholders including Investors, Supervisory and Management Boards, and C-level executives
Assist with ad hoc requests for financial data; be a subject matter reference expert for other teams
Become a knowledge expert in SAP and other Company-developed software platforms. Work closely with more technical accounting team members on development of automated accounting from various input systems
Organize business processes for internal control (cost and budget spending); work closely with internal audit function to document and develop most effectively
Initiate and drive projects for company’s operational and functional improvement, some examples including, but not limited to: expense management, procurement and cost control, invoice and payment approval processes
Your Profile:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field is required
4+ years of overall combined accounting and finance with initial time spent in public accounting (ideally a Big 4 with focus on insurance clients) OR 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience with significant exposure to insurance accounting
Experience with creating and reviewing financial statements, as well as developed analytical skills on the results
Excellent knowledge of German regulatory (HGB) standards; additional Solvency II and IFRS exposure is preferred. Knowledge of how to conduct research is a plus
Experience as an auditor / working with auditors is helpful
Very good skills in MS Office (especially Excel); SAP or another ERP system knowledge is helpful
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Fluency in German and English (the latter at a minimum business proficiency)
Willingness to be flexible to / adjust with the changing nature of the business
