Mastery: You are responsible for individual mastery. You enable your people to grow and foster their career growth. You identify improvement areas in their functional, non-functional or soft skills and support their development.
Leadership: You are a servant leader of a team of approximately 15-20 software developers and are responsible for empowering your people. You are an experienced leader who understands the concepts of leadership, team autonomy, and their relation to being a coach and servant leader at the same time.
Care: You care for the individuals in Digital Product Development at FlixBus as well as for the setup of the teams to perform the best.
Contact: Stay in touch with your people, acknowledging and learning about the interaction with the teams and their individual behaviour.
Participation: Participate in daily stand-ups, reviews and tribe ceremonies (planning, reviews, etc.) of the people you are responsible for.
Oversight: Proactively meet with Agile Coaches, Product Owners and Engineers in your team to work together and help enable the teams to be successful.
Alignment: Align individual and team purpose with FlixBus goals and establish related processes such as feedback, compensation, onboarding, etc. with other People Managers.
Impediments: Remove organizational blockers and enable the teams to be successful such as ensuring that all people related tools and processes are state of the art.
Hiring: Collaborate with the various departments regarding budgeting within their respective teams, as well as the HR department to help evaluate current recruiting and onboarding processes, personnel development, and performance management. Actively interview for new employees across the technology organization and train others on how to be an expert interviewer.
Labor Law: You own the disciplinary power for your people and serve as an escalation point for the Product Owner, Agile Coaches and anyone else who needs support.
Culture: You grow the culture of being a tech company. Fostering an environment that people love to come to work every day. You have 3-5 years of experience in managing teams and individuals.
You are open to traveling for work (a few days every 6-8 weeks is required)
You prefer a flat hierarchical structure where you enable teams to be successful while letting teams be autonomous in choosing what they work on and how they do it.
You live the values of servant leadership. You are driven by your empathy for others and are motivated make each individual and team successful.
You are skilled with people management and conflict resolution, and have ideally achieved mastery in a certain area of Scrum software development (i.e. People Manager, Software Developer, Agile Coach, or Product Owner).
You enjoy supporting people and find satisfaction if you help teams and individuals becoming successful.
You feel responsible for the organisation, process, and people in the organisation and understand the value of our people.
You are a team player, full of empathy and intuition, properties you self-evidently call your own.
You have worked in a digital product development organisation before, with any of the common agile methodologies and understand the complexity of this endeavour.
Ability to understand what is happening in a cross functional team and the team dynamics (such as dysfunctions of a team).
Knowledge and understanding of labour law aspects of disciplinary leadership is useful.
You are fluent in English.
